First of all, you have to build the wooden legs of the table, from 4×4 lumber. Measure the 30” long legs and cut the components with a circular saw. Smooth the cut edges with a sand block, in order to get a nice appearance.  With the legs cut,  you have to install the 2×4 aprons into place. Plumb the legs with a spirit level and lock the components together with screws. In order to get the job done like a pro, you should pre-drill holes, before inserting the 3” screws.

Continue the project by installing the stretchers into place, making sure it is flush with the four leg of the table. Cut the boards that form the top of the wooden table  and install them into place with decking screws. Countersink the head of the screws and fill the holes with wood putty. Sand the wooden surface with am orbital sander and apply several coats of varnish or protective paint.

If you want to complete the woodworking project in a professional manner, hide the edges of the boards, by installing 2×2 trims. Nevertheless, you could also round the edges of the slats with a 1/4”, if you don’t want to fit 2×2 trims into place.
